Students can talk directly to the individual about their career and learn what the educational as well as skill requirements are to work in that industry. To coordinate industry speakers in the classroom refer to the following guidelines:
1. Determine the industry area &/or specific occupation you are interested in and with a minimum of three dates and times during a two-three week period.

Job Shadowing
Job Shadowing / Career Investigation
A Work-based Learning Experience
Job Shadowing provides an opportunity for high school students to visit the world of work and to see first hand why people work. Students get a clearer understanding about what they are learning in school and how it’s applied in the workplace. Students can see that in the workplace people work in teams to solve problems and that good communication skills are critical. Job shadowing also provides a great opportunity for students to learn if the career they’ve selected will work for them.
